About Us


The Moot Court Society of NUALS, Kochi, is a dynamic body that is committed to cultivating a strong mooting culture on campus. The NUALS MCS is especially renowned for organising The NUALS International Maritime Law Arbitration Competition (NIMLAC), the University’s flagship event, which has earned widespread acclaim for its niche focus and expert panels comprising some of the foremost names in maritime arbitration.

MCS successfully conducts The NUALS Moot, centered on International Taxation and the competition draws participation from top National Law Universities across the country, with distinguished judges from tier-one law firms overseeing the proceedings. Apart from national-level events, the Society conducts internal moot court competitions, which are judged by advocates of the High Court and leading professionals from the legal industry.

NUALS students have consistently made their mark on the global stage, having qualified to the world rounds of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) International Arbitration Moot, the Oxford Price Media Law Moot Court Competition, and the Oxford International Intellectual Property Law Moot. They have also emerged as Winners at the Stetson International Environmental Moot Court Competition and the Nelson Mandela World Human Rights Moot Court Competition, a runners-up finish at the Ian Fletcher International Insolvency Law Moot Court Competition, and a semi-finalist position at the King’s College London–Herbert Smith Freehills Competition Law Moot.
